(This blog is dedicated to Blake, Tirzah, Mia, and Kacie… our grandchildren)
Today, Pawpaw (aka Phillip) and I, with the help of our elephant friends, helped Diego rescue the monkeys. We heard that the monkeys were running out of food. The rain we had last night made the river rise too much for the monkeys to be able to get to their food. We needed to help them, but we had to have a way to get across the river. We asked our elephant friends to help us, because they are big enough to travel across the river. The elephants were playing, but they stopped to listen to us and agreed to help. They were so happy about helping the monkeys that they gave Phillip and me a hug!
We rode the elephants to get food to take to the monkeys. The elephants are very tall, but they walk slowly, especially when they have people riding them. As they walk, they sway from side to side, but we had a seat on top of the elephant, with a wooden bar across the front so we wouldn’t fall out. Our elephant friend picked up and carried a bundle of grass to take to the monkeys:
The elephant carried the grass the entire way with his trunk:
We saw the river that caused the problem for the monkeys:
And, while we were travelling, we passed the elephant nursery where the baby elephants played:
With the help of the elephants, we found the monkeys. They were very happy to have the food:
They even sat on our lap to eat their food:
We were glad we were able to help Diego to rescue the monkeys.
Well I'm so glad that you were able to help the monkeys to get the food they needed. It was so nice of the elephants to stop playing long enough to help, it must be true that all the animals try to help each other, thats how all of us should try to live, helping one another.
ReplyDeleteIt really looked liked PawPaw and GrandMaw had alot of fun helping and the monkeys sure didn't waste anytime eating when the food got there.
Thanks for helping the elephants feed the monkeys and taking the pictures so we could see.
See Ya, Your Cuz.
This is utter perfection!!!! I smiled from beginning to end. :-D The girls have gone to bed already, but I can't wait to read this to them in the morning! You guys are just so far beyond awesome. :-)
ReplyDeleteTirzah liked the story! She isn't too impressed wtih the monkeys and couldn't help noticing certain anatomical features, lol! She loved the baby elephants and the elephant hugs, though. She wants to know how you got up on top of the elephants. She also wants to know if Diego is real. ;-)
